Mary Alice Leake Rumfelt, widow of John D. Rumfelt Sr., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2014.

Mrs. Rumfelt was born in Fountain Inn to the late Harold Thomas Leake and Frances Helen Knight Leake. She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church and the Young-At-Heart Club. She enjoyed quilting, crochet, and cake decorating. Mary Alice was a graduate of the inaugural 1958 class of Hillcrest High School. She was a longtime member of the Breakfast Club at Hardee's.

Surviving are a son, Charles Rumfelt; a daughter, Fredda Greene and husband David; five grandchildren, Chad Tolbert and wife Laurie, Daniel Rumfelt, Kelli Freeman and husband Byron, Kendel Duckworth and husband Kevin, and Katelyn Greene; and six great-grandsons, Kameron, Gabriel, Landon, Kaleb, Kaden, and Michael. She was predeceased by a son, John "Rambo" Rumfelt Jr.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Eddie Howard. Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
