Reba Garrett Childs
Reba Rainey Garrett Childs, 94, widow of Harold Childs, formerly of West Parker Road, Greenville, fell asleep in Christ on February 20, 2014 at Hosanna Health and Rehab in Piedmont.
Born in Anderson County September 5, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Shirley Clarence and Mettie Guthrie Garrett. She was the last surviving member of her generation.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and the oldest member of Bethel Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith. She loved her God, her family, and her church family.
She and her husband were owners of Childs Produce Company in Greenville for many years.
Surviving are daughter, Judy Childs Turner (Jim) of Townville and granddaughter Michelle Turner Bright (Jeff) of Seneca.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Garrett and James Garrett.
Her daughter would like to express her deepest appreciation to all the staff at Hosanna Health and Rehab for the loving care they gave Reba over the last four years and to Ark Hospice for the special care in her last days.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Kyle Casey and Jon Lippert officiating. Visitation will be after the service.
