Ansel Satterfield Sr.


Ansel Beauford Satterfield, Sr., 97, widower of Margaret Gregory Satterfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2014.

Mr. Satterfield was born in Simpsonville to the late Andrew Rush Satterfield and Lula Newman Satterfield. He was a member of Clear Spring Baptist Church and the Fountain Inn Masonic Lodge. He was a US Navy veteran, serving during World War II.

Surviving are a son, Ansel Satterfield, Jr. and wife Linda; a daughter, Karen Smoak and husband Bill; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Mose Satterfield and Hugh Satterfield; and a sister, Flora Barnett.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m.Wednesday at Cannon Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Cameron Byrd.
