Ozzie Alexander, 86, husband of Lillian A. Alexander, went on to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Alexander was born in Cleveland County, GA, a son of the late Gene Alexander and the late Althea Vandevar Alexander Hawkins. He was retired from A & R Sprinkler and he was a member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Alexander was a U. S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lillian Alexander of the home, a son, Larry Alexander (Margaret) of Honea Path, three daughters, Elizabeth Alexander of Greer, Martha Alexander and Wanda F. Jones, both of Greenville, six grandchildren, Miranda Gilbert, Kristin and T. J. Malik, Jonathan Gilbert, Jeremy Gilbert, Cody Alexander, Robin Jones, and Mikkell Jones, great grandchildren, Aleeya Grace, Memphis Jackson, Bentley Michael, and Elaina Faith. Surviving also is a niece and nephew, Michael and Vicky Vaughn.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his step-father Lewis Hawkins, grandson, Shone Knight, sister, Margaret Vaughn, and brother, Roy Alexander.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 1PM Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens followed by funeral services at 1 PM. Burial will be at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
