Everett F. "Pee Wee" Powell


Everett F. "Pee Wee" Powell, 89, of Easley, widower of Eva Parham Powell, died on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.

Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late James Edward and Lois Eunice Bell Powell.

Mr. Powell was a member of Piedmont Park Baptist Church, served in the United States Army during WWII, and retired from Spencer Pest Control.

He is survived by a son, Mike Powell and wife, Susan, of Taylors; a daughter, Reverend Cynthia Powell; two granddaughters, Melanie Powell (Mathew Nowend) of Simpsonville, and Nikki Haley (Lee) of Easley; three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Aidan Haley, and Kaitlyn Nowend; and a sister, Ellie Barnes of Summerville.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, James E., Eldridge, and Albert Powell; and two sisters, Mildred Hawkins and Katherine Powell.

The visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Piedmont Park Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
