Wanda McAlister DuBard

Wanda McAlister DuBard, 57, loving wife of Daniel Ellis DuBard, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of Gaynell Sudduth McAlister and the late Julius Earl McAlister. Mrs. DuBard was a graduate of North Greenville Jr. College and an honors graduate of Newberry College. She was retired from Newberry County School District where she was an elementary school teacher at Reuben Elementary. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, #205 in Travelers Rest and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Travelers Rest.

Surviving along with her husband and her mother are her children: Whitney Cheatham French (Wally) and Joshua Edward Cheatham; sister: Elaine McAlister Burgess (Bill); mother-in-law: Mary Whitaker DuBard (Robert, Jr. Deceased); brother-in-law: Robert Manning DuBard III; step-children: Karlee DuBard Ferguson (Shawn) and Linlee Whitaker DuBard.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, March 13, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Travelers Rest. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park in Travelers Rest, SC.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, March 11, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the home of Danny and Wanda DuBard in Newberry, SC. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening, March 12, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary in Travelers Rest, SC.

The family will be at the home of Gaynell McAlister, 13 S. Poinsett Hwy., Travelers Rest, SC.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Travelers Rest, 20 McElhaney Rd., Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
