W. David (Hafner) Harper


W. David (Hafner) Harper, 66, loving husband of Bridgette Gravley Harper, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014.

Born in Fort Mill, SC, he was a son of the late John Harper and Frances Jones Harper, and was reared by his dear grandmother, Mama Jones.

Mr. Harper was a former employee of The Greenville Hospital System and member of Woodside Baptist Church. He was an avid Clemson Tiger fan, who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his twin sons, Tony Hafner (Kim), Tim Hafner (Cindy), his daughter, Michelle Collins (Jason); eight grandchildren, Chad, Nikki, Drew, Garrett, Blake, Lauren, Brittany, and Amanda; and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Joanna Covar (David); a brother, John Harper, Jr. (Martha); and special aunt and uncle, Jack and Pat Mulligan.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Harper.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 6:00 -p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest in Greenville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park, Seneca.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Woodside Baptist Church Choir, 301 Woodside Ave, Greenville, SC 29611, or Gentiva Hospice, 15 Brendan Way, Greenville, SC 29615.

Family will be at the residence.
