Doris Barnhill Todd


Doris B. Todd, 76, of Greer, SC went to be with our Heavenly Father on March 19, 2014. Born in Fair Bluff, NC on March 4, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ada Barnhill. As the eldest of 6, her siblings are Faye Barnhill(deceased); Milton Barnhill(Alma) and Muriel Fowler of Clarendon NC; Judy Ward (Tom) of Whiteville, NC; and Brenda Huggins of Loris, SC. Doris is survived by her husband of 55 years, G. Elton Todd of Greer, SC; and 3 children, Grover Todd, Jr. "Tebby"(Darla) of Greer, SC; Melisha Durkee(Doug) of Birmingham, AL; and Brian Todd(Leisa) of Greenville, SC and her 7 precious grandchildren, Hunter Lovvorn(Justin), Garrett Todd; William, Todd and Jackson Durkee; and Walker and Joseph Todd. Other family members in the Greenville area are Christel Manley (niece) and David Huggins (nephew). Those who knew Doris knew of her impacting love: Love for her Lord, her family and her friends. Nothing brought Doris more joy than having family and friends together to for various occasions in her home. She shared her talents through gardening and decorating with many. Doris just loved people. She was loyal to her church serving in many capacities; most memorable as Sunday School teacher and Dir. of Ladies First Choice Ministry. She was passionate about North Greenville Univ. and involved with many projects on campus. The family will host a time of visitation on Sat. March 22 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at Edwards Road Baptist Church, 1050 Edwards Road, Greenville, SC 29615. A memorial service will follow at 12:30pm and graveside at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edwards Road Baptist Church, Greenville, SC and to North Greenville University, Tigerville, SC.
