Ruby Jane Burnett

Greenville

Ruby Jane Burnett, 87, of Greenville, widow of James A. Burnett, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Burl Lee Jameson, Sr. and Essie Ellison Jameson.

Ruby was a member of Judson Baptist Church for 50 years and was a current member of Welcome Baptist Church. She retired after 20 years from J.P. Stevens, Slater Plant, and she enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by sons, Jimmy Burnett, and Michael Burnett and wife, Kathy; a grandson, Joshua Burnett; sisters, Iris Abercrombie and Barbara Gantt; and a brother, Billy Jameson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Nannie May McCollum, Mary Lee Nolan, and Betty Abercrombie; and a brother, B.L. Jameson, Jr.

The visitation will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
