Six Mile

Etrulia Theresa Mitchell Edney, 95, widow of George Doyle Edney, passed from this life Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Sterling House in Central.

Mrs. Edney was born in Six Mile, a daughter of the late Ernest Martin and Angie Laura Kelley Mitchell. She was a homemaker and a member of Gap Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include brothers, Lloyd Mitchell (Marie) of Six Mile, Franklin Mitchell of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Robert Mitchell (Mary) of Gastonia, NC.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by brothers, Waymon, Leland, Paul, and Donald Mitchell.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Dillard Funeral Home from 10 to 11 AM with funeral services following in the chapel at 11 AM with The Reverend Ken Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens with The Reverend Dr. Boyce Whitman officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Sterling House and also to the staff and volunteers if Interim Hospice for the care given to Mrs. Edney.
