Jasper S. "Jap" Fowler Sr.

Fountain Inn

Jasper S. "Jap" Fowler, Sr., age 77, husband of Imogene Cannon Fowler, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014.

Born in Simpsonville, he was a son of the late Jasper Roy and Lucile Templeton Fowler. Mr. Fowler was retired from Chandler Construction as an electrician and heavy equipment operator. He also retired from the South Carolina Forestry Commission as a firefighter after 32 years of service. Mr. Fowler was a member of Fairview Street Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and sound operator. He was a member of Fountain Inn Masonic Lodge 192 and was a Shriner.

In addition to his wife of 56 years, Mr. Fowler is survived by a daughter, Kim Adkins and husband Gary "Squirrel" Adkins; and a son, Jasper Stewart Fowler, Jr. and wife Sonya Fowler.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Fairview Street Baptist Church with burial to follow in Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cannon Funeral Home in Fountain Inn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Street Baptist Church, 601 Fairview Street, Fountain Inn, SC 29644 or the , 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
