James "Jimmy" Samuel Konduros


James "Jimmy" Samuel Konduros, 81, died Monday, April 14, 2014.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Samuel and Patricia Velle Konduros.

Mr. Konduros served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a retired letter carrier and former co-owner of Sam's Lunch on College Street. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

Surviving are daughter, Joni Hefner, and husband Patrick of NC; son, Tommy Smith of Taylors; grandson, Todd Smith; sister, Dee Autry, and husband, John of GA; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. He was predeceased by sister, Evelyn Kushner.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
