Delmar George Reedy
Delmar George Reedy, 76, of Greenville, S.C., died peacefully at his home on Thursday April 17, 2014. "Del" Reedy was born to Marjorie Cousins and John Delmar Reedy on August 21, 1937 in Peckville, Pennsylvania. Del graduated from West Orange High School in West Orange, NJ, in 1955. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 until he was honorably discharged in 1959. He attended NYU while working at IBM and then went on to hold executive sales positions at Memorex, Wang, Sorbus and Basic 4 until his retirement. He was a member of the Shriners and the Freemasons. Besides traveling the world while in the Navy, his career took him coast to coast throughout his life, beginning in NYC, then to San Francisco, Philadelphia, Chicago and then to Greenville, S.C., to retire. He was an avid golfer, playing for ten years with the Golden Boys of Pebble Creek. Throughout his life, he enjoyed travelling with his wife Marjorie, spending time on his boat, taking walks with his Siberian Husky Sasha and spending time at the beach with his grandson James.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Marjorie Reedy of Greenville, S.C.; his stepchildren, Michele Mucci and Patrick Mucci, III; two children from his first marriage, Ronald Reedy and Linda Reedy; and his grandson, James Patrick Osborne. He is predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Vivian and Phyllis. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Friends and family will be received at the family home this Wednesday April 23rd, 2014 from 1pm-4pm to join in the remembrance of a beloved husband, loving father and devoted grandfather.
