Macy Cantrell Clary, 90, formerly of South Johnson Street, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center.
Born in Chesnee, she was the widow of Glenn Elmore Clary and the daughter of the late James Jefferson Cantrell and Monnie Wilson Cantrell. She was retired from Oxford, loved knitting and crochet. Mrs. Clary was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, The Honorable Gary E. Clary and wife, Pat Brumbach Clary of Central and Kenneth E. Clary and wife, Vicki Barker Clary of Tucson, AZ; a sister, Jeanette Cantrell Simon of Wilmington, DE; five grandchildren, Adair Clary Pederson and husband, Kevin Matthew Pederson, Rev. Lawson Brumbach Clary and wife, Michelle Herman Clary, Kevin Alexander Clary and Patrick Stephen Clary and wife, Faith Thomas Clary; seven great-grandchildren, Conner Matthew Pederson, Clary Elizabeth Pederson, Hudson Drew Clary, Grayson Barrett Clary, Liam Matthew Clary, Brooke Nicole Clary and Camdyn Elyse Clary; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Carolyn Pierce, of Gaffney. Mrs. Clary was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth David (K.D.) Cantrell; and a sister, Margie Cantrell Sprouse. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Martha Franks Retirement Center for their love and care.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Clyde Thomas, Rev. Lawson Clary and Mr. Benny Clary officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
