Batey H. "Bud" Kennedy, 83, of Greenville, died Wednesday May 7, 2014 at McCall Hospice House. He is remembered by his family as a faithful husband, father, and grandfather.
Born in Biddeford, ME, he was a son of the late David A. and Elsa Marie Nyden Kennedy. He was retired as Director of international sales of textile machinery, served in the Army Reserves, on the Greenville County Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, graduated from Thornton Academy, Saco, ME, where he participated on the football, basketball, track, drama, debate, and dance teams, was in the National Honor Society, and had a strong spiritual faith.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Joanne Allmon Kennedy; sons: Tim Kennedy, Mark Kennedy(Carolyn); daughters: Michele Kennedy Kouadio, Linda Kennedy Currier(Lee); brothers: Alfred Kennedy, David Kennedy; sister: Isabel Kennedy Wendleken; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, William Kennedy.
The family will receive friends Saturday May 17, 2014 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at The Howze Mortuary.
A celebration of life will be Saturday May 17, 2014 at 12:00 noon at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with private burial.
The family will be at the home of his wife.
