Lucille Frances Starkey Smith, 91, of Greenville, widow of Olly V. "Oliver" Smith, died on Sunday, May 11, 2014.
Born in Pickens, she was a daughter of the late Milton T. and Ada Virginia Freeman Starkey.
Mrs. Smith attended Parker High School and retired after 30 years from Union Bleachery. She taught Sunday School for 40 years and was also a member of Parisview Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved sewing.
She is survived by two sons, Marvin O. Smith (Fay) and Donald L. Smith (Liz); two granddaughters, Cindy Cagle (James) and Ashley Shehan; two great grandsons, Hunter and Michael Malone; a great granddaughter, Riley Shehan; two sisters, Virginia Clark and Irene Starkey; and a brother, Raymond Starkey.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James T. Starkey.
The visitation will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Parisview Baptist Church, with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
