Jane Hawkins Dover Bondurant, of 304 Riverbend Rd., Greenville, died Wednesday, May 14 at McCall Hospice House. She was the wife of Wesley Eugene Bondurant, to whom she had been married since March 15, 1975.
Born October 3, 1931, in Anderson, SC, daughter of the late Anthony White and Marie Herron Hawkins. She spent her early years in Greenville County and later lived in Florida, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Bermuda, and the Panama Canal Zone before returning to Greenville in 1985, following her retirement from the Dept. of Defense Dependents' Schools, Panama.
At the time of her death, she was a member of the Berea Friendship United Methodist Church and the New Hope Sunday School class. She was a volunteer with the Greenville Literacy Association and, for a number of years, served as a member of the Greenville County Children's Foster Care Review Board.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: Anthony R. Dover (Valerie), Oakland, CA, Stephen J. Dover (Jo Ann), Bluffton, SC; grandsons: Gregory J. Dover (Suzy), Greenville, SC, Kevin E. Baker, Greenville, SC; great-grandson: Yates Dover; great-granddaughter: Lennon Dover; step-daughters: Celeste Lee B. Bell (Mark), Loris, SC, Anita B. Baker, Gastonia, NC; step-grandsons: Charles E. Baker, and J. Wesley Baker, Stockbridge, GA.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 1pm until 2pm at Berea Friendship United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2pm at Berea Friendship United Methodist Church with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
