Walter Thomas "Tom" Jordan, 83, of Greenville, husband of Martha Wilson Jordan, died Friday, May 16, 2014, at his residence.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Thomas Jordan and Victoria Adams Jordan.

Mr. Jordan was a retired foreman of 33 years with Greenville Water System and recipient of the Medal of Honor for his military service from the Daughters of Confederacy.

He was a member of Sam Poe Lodge, Hejaz Shrine, Scottish Rite, American Legion, and a member of Berea First Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by three daughters, Terri Price, and husband, Monte, Mary Lou Meadows, and husband, Tony, and Tommee Anthony, and husband, Jad; sister, Ann Trammell; brothers, Don Jordan, and wife, Barbra, and Ron Jordan, and wife, Glenda; grandchildren, Heath and Jarrett Price, Jordan and Jason Osteen, Monte-Anne and Hank Hill, Britni and Blake McCall, and Wilson and Jac Anthony; great grandchildren, Amber Hill, Carson Osteen, Price Hill, Mary Alice Price, and Anna-Kate Hill; and special nephew, Norman Chandler, whom he loved like a son. He loved all of his many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will held Monday, May 19, 2014, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children and Youth Ministry of Berea First Baptist Church, 529 Farrs Bridge Road, Greenville, SC 29611 or to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
