Fred High


Freddie "Fred" Alsey High, 72, of Piedmont, and husband of Hilda Parris High, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014.

Born in Wilson, NC, he was the son of the late Millon and Mary Louise Owens High.

Fred was a retired United States Army Veteran and also retired after thirty years with the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

He was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church, a Mason, a member of the American Legion, Greenville Gun Club, and an avid member of the YMCA.

In addition to his wife of 42 years, he is survived by his daughter, Heather Leckie and her husband, Greg, and grandson, Joshua.

He was also a god-father to Jill Nicholson-Houston and her husband Jared, Scott Nicholson and his wife Jennifer, and their son Stiles.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
