Adger Ivory Watson


Adger Ivory Watson, 90, widower of Mary Jenness Watson, died Thursday, May 29, 2014.

Born in Fountain Inn, he was the son of the late Thomas Ivory and Ollie Jenkins Watson.

Mr. Watson served during World War II in the US Army. He was retired from Union Bleachery and was a member of First Baptist Church Greenville. He attended Clemson University and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and vegetable gardening. He was an avid bird watcher.

Surviving are a son, Christopher Watson and wife, Pamela, of Greenville; two daughters, Kathy Dorrien of Wellesley, MA and Cindy Craig of Greenville; five grandchildren, Ashley Watson, Amy Dorrien Traisci and husband Peter, Jason Craig and wife, Rebecca, Cathleen Taylor and husband, Christopher, and Jennifer Craig; three great grandchildren, Luca Ivory, Anson Elizabeth and Theodore Rocco; and a sister, Helen Carter of Greenville. He was predeceased by five sisters and two brothers.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Carpenter Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with visitation prior starting at 1:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Greenville, 847 Cleveland St., Greenville, SC 29601.
