Donald Launius

Donald Deward Launius, age 81, widower of Delores Jean Launius, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

Born in McLeansboro, Illinois, he was a son of the late Jeff Hillard and Delcie Jenkins Launius. Mr. Launius was a graduate of Southern Illinois University before serving his country in the U.S. Air Force and the National Guard. He was a member of Community of Christ and was a Mason for over 50 years.

Mr. Launius is survived by two daughters, Glinda L. Stricklin and husband Charles, and Teresa K. Girard and husband Jim; two sons, Donald D. Launius, II, and Michael R. Launius and wife Stephanie; six grandchildren, Bobbi Gentry Dubose and husband David, Michael C. Gentry, Tara Berry and husband Michael, Donald D. Launius, III, Danielle Launius, and David Launius; a great grandson, Parker Berry; a brother, Melvin Launius; and a sister, Virginia Durham and husband Doug.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Cannon Funeral Home-Jones Chapel, 603 West Curtis Street, Simpsonville, SC 29680, with entombment to follow in Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Cannon Funeral Home-Jones Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the , 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615, or Open Arms Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
