Henry John Diks, 86, loving husband of Joyce Diks, died Thursday, June 26, 2014.

Born, North Bergen, NJ, Henry was a son of the late Henry Jacob and Katharina Steiner Diks.

Henry retired from Midlantic Bank, serving as Vice President, and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was an active member of Disciples United Methodist Church. He was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Greenville Memorial Hospital.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his daughters, Linda Custodio and her husband Anthony, Karen Chamness and her husband Steve, and Glenis Levine and her husband Glen; eight grandchildren, Kevin McLaughlin, Niall McLaughlin, Nyah Wynne, Bronwyn Lamell, Eric Chamness, Hunter Chamness, Anya Levine, and Mishon Levine; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Robert and two sisters, Dorothy and Elizabeth.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 2nd, at 11 am, at Disciples United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disciples United Methodist Church, 185 Riley Smith Drive, Greenville, SC 29615 or St. Francis Memorial Hospital, 1 St. Francis Dr., Greenville, SC 29601.
