Gayle Childress McGaha


Gayle Childress McGaha, 88, of Greenville, loving wife of the late Ottis McGaha died Thursday, July 10, 2014.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late John Grover Childress and Evelyn Cole Childress.

Mrs. McGaha was a member of Tremont Church of God where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years and where she was highly involved in the Shut-in Ministry.

Surviving are brother, Jack Childress; sister, Joyce Key (Ed); granddaughter, Susan McGaha; grandson, Jonathan Banks; and her special friend of 70 years Edith Guinn.

In addition to her loving husband and parents she is preceded in death by, son, Kerry Wayne "Butch" McGaha; daughter, Lori Banks; grandson, Michael Wayne McGaha; granddaughter, Casey Michelle Banks; and bothers, Lloyd and James Childress.

Visitation will be held at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. with the funeral service following in the Northwest chapel. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.
