The Reverend Dr. Clarence Larry Freeman, 84, of Taylors, loving husband of 65 years to Kathryn Guest Freeman, died July 18, 2014.

Born in Pickens he was a son of the late Clarence Eugene and Jenny Pace Freeman.

Reverend Dr. Freeman was pastor of nine churches and sixteen interims. He was President of the South Carolina Baptist Convention, and served on the General Board. He graduated from North Greenville University, Furman University, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

In addition to his loving wife he is survived by, sons, Eddie Freeman (Jean) of Landrum and The Reverend Dr. Hal Freeman (Oksana) of Greer; sister Lucille Hendricks of Georgia; brother, Alvin Freeman of Tyron, N.C.; five grandchildren and; three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, Monday, July 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. with the service following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680.

The Family would like to thank the staff of McCall Hospice House for the love and tender care shown to The Reverend Dr. Freeman.
