Ruby S. Kay


Ruby Stone Kay, 91, formerly of Pelzer, widow of Clifton L. "Curly" Kay, Sr., died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at NHC Greer.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late William Harper and Emmie Pack Stone. She retired from Saco-Lowell and was a member of Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith.

Surviving are daughters, Donna Kay Owings, of Greer, and Patricia Kay, of Mauldin; son, Clifton L. Kay, Jr., of Williamston; sister, Janice S. Garrett, of Anderson; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Willie S. Smith; and brothers, John H. Stone and Harper DeWitt Stone.

Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith with burial following in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home of her son, Clifton L. Kay, Jr., 1600 Beaverdam Road, Williamston.
