Vincent M Bridges


Vincent M. Bridges, 62, beloved son of Ruth Bridges of Mauldin, SC, passed away Friday, July 25th in Prague.

Vincent was predeceased by his father, George M. Bridges. In addition to his mother, Ruth, he is survived by his wife, Darlene Pekul Bridges of Mt. Gilead, NC.

Born and raised in Greenville, SC, he attended the University of South Carolina. Although a South Carolina native, he resided in Prague.

Vincent acquired an interest in history, Theater Arts, Nostradamus and Shakespeare. He was an author, historian, and historic researcher.

He was featured on the History Channel's documentary Nostradamus: 500 years later airing in Dec. 2003 as the on-camera guide and Historical Consultant. He was also the featured historian for the History Channel's Lost Book of Nostradamus (2007), and Nostradamus 2012, as well as appearing in two episodes of the Nostradamus Effect (2010), Apocalypse Island (2010) and The Next Nostradamus (2009) also for the History Channel. He also worked on the Discovery Channel's Nostradamus Decoded (2010). And he worked on the Learning Channel's documentary Atlantis in the Andes (2001) and was the "weirdo wrangler" for the ScFi Channel's Proof Positive (2004). Vincent was also consultant to the Museum of Alchemists and Magicians of Old Prague.

He was to direct the upcoming play The Donkey in the Cradle in Prague. He also lead historic tours of Prague, Southern France, and Egypt.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. and a Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast, 1604 NE Main Street, Simpsonville, SC.
