Doris Jones Turner


Doris Jones Turner, 85, of 162 Cobb St., wife of Claude Turner, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Regency Hospital in Greenville.

Born February 17, 1929 in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Eva Revis Jones. Mrs. Turner retired from Woodside Mills with forty-seven years of service and was a member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church. She loved her family, and working in her flower garden.

In addition to her husband of forty-four years, she is survived by her daughter, Sharon Kay Looper (Tom), sisters, Frances Snyder, Dorothy Reese and Shirley Owen; brothers, Rudy Jones and Randall Jones; grandchildren, Jermain Carman, Anesha Smith (Allen) and Bradley Kay; great-grandchildren, Brianna Carman, Blake Carman, A.J. Smith, Emma Smith, Dalton Kay and Belle Kay.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Marion Ray Carman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family is at the home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Geer Memorial Baptist Church Child Development Center, 911 South 5th St, Easley, Sc 29640.
