Rev. Floyd J. Hannon


Rev. Floyd Junior Hannon, 83, of 1237 Apalache Street, died August 5, 2014 at his home.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late James Robert and Cora Idella Mills Hannon, he was a retired employee of South Carolina Steel, former Pastor of Southern Worsted Full Gospel Tabernacle and a member of New Covenant Fellowship.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Edith Fowler Hannon of the home; two sons, Rev. Keith Hannon and his wife Paulette of Greer and Dennis Hannon of Taylors; one sister Nellie Knighton of Travelers Rest; four grandchildren, Chad Hannon (Inez), Amy Rhymer (Brent), Shelly Monroe (Leonard) and Erin Poole (Chad) and nine great grandchildren, Noah, Gabe and Lillian Hannon, Emma Kate, Nathan and Evan Rhymer and Murielle Monroe, Maggie and Nicklaus Poole.

Mr. Hannon was predeceased by six brothers, William, James, Broadus, D.P., Roy and Troy Hannon and three sisters, Lou Gosnell, Thelma Hannon and Myrtle Turner.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Keith Hannon and Rev. John Elmore. Burial will follow in Faith Temple cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
