Albert E. Snipes

Greenville

Albert E. Snipes, 87, husband of Mary Frances "Cookie" Snipes, died August 18, 2014.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Edger W. and Bessie King Snipes.

Mr. Snipes served as a Sergeant in the US Air Corp during World War II, and retired from J.P. Stevens Dunean Plant after 46 years of service. He was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, the Mauldin Empire Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post #3.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Viki Snipes Capps of Greenville and Sheri Snipes Summey and her husband, Buddy, of Greenville; two brothers, Jimmy Snipes (Sarah) of Taylors and Larry Snipes (Karen) of Greenville; three grandchildren, Adam W. Capps, Jessica Summey Williams and Molly Summey Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Elsey Alaina Smith. He was predeceased by two brothers, John G. and J. P. Snipes.

Services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Forrester officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at the church.
