Emily Ann Allen Shockley, 74, of Greer, SC went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 3, 2010.

Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Ann Belle Quarles Allen of Greenville and the late Postell Lawrence Allen, Sr.
A retired RN, she was a 1957 graduate of Greenville General Hospital Nursing School.
She worked in several Veterans Administration Hospitals.
During her four years in the US Air Force including 13 months in Vietnam, she attained the rank of Captain.
She was a member of LifeSong Church Lyman.
Along with her mother, she is survived by her husband: George E. Shockley, Jr. of Greer; a son and daughter-in-law: Jonathan Brian and Dr. Kristi Griffin Shockley of Greer; a sister and brother-in-law: Mary A. and Jack McDowell of Greenwood; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Postell L. Allen, Jr. and Pansy of Anderson and J. Milton and Carol Allen of Taylors; two grandsons: Kaleb Preston Shockley and Joshua Hunter Shockley; a mother-in-law: Lucy Mae Shockley of Greenville and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The service will be officiated by Rev. Jeff Hickman and Rev. Neil Heller with honorary Escorts from Emily's 1957 nursing graduating class and spouses along with active pallbearers: Dan Patton, Roy Evans, Kelly Hall, Eric Lamb, Danny Sweatt, and Wayne Evans.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the LifeSong Church Lyman, PO Box 159, Lyman, SC 29365.
