Clyde Leonard Tuck, 85, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday evening, May 24, 2011 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Clyde Dean Tuck, Sr. and Susie McCallister Tuck.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served during WW II. He was a part of that "greatest generation" that arrived on ship LCT 511 during the Normandy invasion and hit Beach Utah Wave 13 at 6:30a.m. He retired from Bell South with 40 year's service. Mr. Tuck was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving family, wife, Margie Tuck, of the home; son, James Tuck and wife, Susanne of Simpsonville; daughters, Vickie Foust of Taylors, Susan Tuck of Nashville, TN; and Cherry Tuck of Stevensville, MT; brothers, Harold and Michael Tuck; sisters, Audrey Lanford, Yvonne Pace, Jeanette Lindsey, Elaine Smith, Linda Albertson; grandchildren, Amy Foust Macris and Sarah Tuck. He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Hardy and brothers, Earl and Clyde Dean Tuck, Jr..
Services will be Saturday, May 28th at 1:00pm in the Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Charles Snook officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary.
