Betty W. Hagler, of Greenville, died February 10, 2012, in Greenville with her family by her side. Mrs. Hagler was born in Jacksboro, Tennessee, and lived in the Upstate for over thirty years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended Furman University, worked at Clemson University, and enjoyed serving others in her community. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Leona Williams of Jacksboro, TN. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gerald Hagler; daughters and sons-in-law Drs. Courtney and Mike Devane of Simpsonville, SC, and Megan Hagler and Franklyn Wu of Berkeley, CA; granddaughter Olivia Devane; sisters Wanda Reynolds of Nashville, TN, Patricia Andel of Perry, GA, and Nancy Coombes of Chattanooga, TN; brothers H.L. Williams of Knoxville, TN, Marvin Williams of Jacksboro, TN, and Mark Williams of Soddy-Daisy, TN; sister-in-law Juanita Barber of Gastonia, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Interim Healthcare Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301. Condolences may be sent to the Woodlands at Furman, 50 Arboretum Way, Greenville, SC 29617. A memorial service will be held in Tennessee at a later date.
