Ethel Teague Jennings


Ethel Teague Jennings, 87, of 520 Hanson Circle, and widow of William H. Jennings, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Waterloo, she was a daughter of the late Clyde O. and Pearl Corbett Teague. She retired from First Baptist Church Daycare after 21 years, and was a very active member of First United Methodist Church in Laurens. She was a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, Chair Evangelism Committee, and was head of the Telephone Prayer Line. She was also over the Hanson Circle Prayer Group.

Surviving are a brother, William Lawton Teague and wife Lynn of Blanchard, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, April 19, 2012, at First United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Alice MacKeil, Rev. Bill Rogers, and Mr. Bobby Smith. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary from 7:00-8:30 pm on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 244 West Main Street, Laurens, SC 29360.
