Billy Joe Wooten, Sr.

Taylors

Billy Joe Wooten, Sr., 68, died May 21, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his family.

A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late Huey Wooten and Genviee Barbare McCauley, a retired truck driver with Buchanan Propane Gas Company, and a member of Gum Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are his wife, Judy A. Jackson Wooten of the home; two daughters, Joann W. Coleman (David) of Taylors and Lisa W. Byars (Mark) of Greer; a son, Billy J. Wooten, Jr. of Taylors; a brother, Donnie Wooten of Taylors; a sister, Avnell Bayne of Belton and four grandchildren, Kendra Byars, Blayne Byars, Macy Wooten and Colby Wooten.

He was predeceased by a brother, Dewey Wooten.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Gum Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by Pastor Dewayne Pruitt and Pastor Gary Greer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary.
