Elizabeth Propps Huggin, 97, the widow of Jack S. Huggin of 609 East O'Neal Street, died Monday, June 18, 2012.
She was born in Fayetteville, West Virginia and was a daughter of the late Henry and Tacy Champe Propps.
Mrs. Huggin met her future husband, Jack, at Berea College while they were performing a Shakespearean play. They were married for 60 years.
She retired from the Cherokee County School System where she served as a guidance counselor and taught health for many years.
Surviving are one sister, Kathleen Jenkins of DeLand, Florida; her two daughters, Frances H. Haselden of Greenville and Jackie H. Rountree of Lake Martin, Alabama; four grandchildren, Gregory W. Haselden of Simpsonville, Alexander H. Curlington of Florence, Melody K. Curlington of Shelby Township, Michigan, and Amber H. Griffin of Monroe, North Carolina; and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home in Gaffney, SC. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in Oakland Cemetery.
