Sue W. King, 93, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 31, 2012.

Sue was born March 29, 1919 to James P. Williams and Billie J. Garrison of Greenville, SC. She was the oldest of five children; her sisters Lois Cannon, Sarah Nix, Billie Jean Gilstrap and brother, Jack Williams all preceded her in death.

She was named Rosa Sue at birth but so disliked the name of Rosa, she was known to friends and family by her middle name, Sue.

She was married to Charles W. King of Charlotte, NC. He preceded her in death in 1988. When her husband retired from the U.S. Army, they moved to Fountain, Colorado in the late 70's. They spent their remaining years there.

Sue is survived by her son, Dick R. King and his wife, Theresa, from Apopka, FL; her stepson, Richard C. King and wife, Sharon, of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Richard M. King of Cleveland, SC, Cynthia Lynn King-Snyder and Mrs. Edward Childers (Catharine Ann), both of Pickens; two great grandchildren, Melissa Childers and Jennifer Spalliero of Pickens, SC; and many nieces and nephews, in particular is Mrs. Charles Minter (Jimmie Ruth) of Riverdale, GA to whom she was a second mother.

Mrs. King was a devoted Christian and when living in Greenville, attended Croswell Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. She was also a charter member of the Billy Graham Crusade and the 700 Club. Other charities she supported included Boys and Girls Club, Children's Diabetes Association, Easter Seals Foundation, Indian Schools and Mounted Ministries of Pickens, SC.

The family would like to give special thanks to her caregiver during the last ten years of her life, Mrs. Anita Brown of Colorado Springs.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow in the Downtown Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. King will be buried alongside her husband at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family requests that donations be made to one of her charities listed above in lieu of flowers.

The family will be at the residence.
