Ruth Virginia Waddle Dyer, 92, widow of Lawrence Esley Dyer, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 17, 2012.
Mrs. Dyer was born June 12, 1920 in Cross Anchor to the late Bordie Landrum Waddle Sr. and Electa Devue Stroud Dyer. She retired from the Beattie Plant and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fountain Inn. She enjoyed cooking, yard sales, and getting "a good deal."
Surviving are three sons, Phillip Dyer and wife Marlyn, Rev. Johnny Dyer and wife Beth, and Ricky Dyer; a daughter, Linda Adams and husband Dewitt; a sister, Nina Grady; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by twin daughters, Mary Lou and Bobby Sue Dyer; a granddaughter, Cindy Dyer; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Melanie and Joshua Dyer; two brothers, Thad Waddle and Bo Waddle Jr; and two sisters, Laura Compton and Janie Putnam.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Johnny Dyer. Burial will be in Graceland East Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
