Master Sergeant David Richard Williams, 60, of Greenville, husband of Norma Estes Williams, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.E. "Buddy" Williams.
Master Sergeant Williams retired from the Army National Guard after 34 years of service, having served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was the co-owner of Creative Kids Child Development Center with his wife, Norma.
After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends on his houseboat "AT EASE" on Lake Keowee.
He was a member of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his loving wife of 32 years, he is survived by children, Ashley Rebecca Williams, David Austin Williams, and Chandler Richard Williams; granddaughter, Bradleigh Reid Robinson; and siblings, Sandy W. Hammond, Mike Williams, Becky W. Hansen, Tony A. Williams, Suzanne W. Cecil and Buddy Williams.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel.
