CDR John Lancaster, husband of Delores Lancaster for 41 years, went to be with the Lord on 5 May 2013.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Gus (Will), Dan (Sarah), Henry (Lindsey); two granddaughters, Ava Grace and Riley; and two sisters Anne Worthy and Carol Counts.
CDR Lancaster served in Vietnam as a Hospital Corpsman with the Marines. He was decorated and wounded while performing heroic actions. He later served on 5 surface deployments; worked in the Pentagon on the Joint Staff; and served in the White House as a Policy analyst. Upon retiring from the Navy, he taught Navy JROTC at Laurens High School.
Visitation will be 12-1:15 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by SCPO John Davis. Burial, with full Military Honors, will be 3 p.m. at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
