Abbie R. Evatt, 87, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Hospice Of The Carolina Foothills in Landrum. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Richard Washburn and Mary Stella Saulsbury Schenck. She was a member of The Eastern Star, UMW, and Mountain View United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters: Carol Ruth Pace, and Marcia Rose Hopkins; two sons: John Calvin Evatt, Jr., and Samuel Richard Evatt; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Along with her parents she was predeceased by one brother and one sister. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1 until 2 p.m. at Mountain View United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Mountain View United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.
