Libby Hancock Powers, 74, of Greenville, wife of the late Charles D. Powers, died on Saturday, July 13, 2013.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Hancock.
Libby graduated from the Greenville General College of Nursing in 1959 and remained close with her fellow classmates. After graduation, Libby worked under Dr. Crowl for 20 years then retired from The Bariatric Clinic where she worked under Dr. McAllister for 25 years. Libby taught the Circle of Friends class at Monaghan Baptist Church. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed ceramics and beading.
Surviving, are sons, Wayne and Mark Powers (Darlene); granddaughter, Lauren Hood who was raised by Libby as her own daughter, grandchildren, Bryan, Jacob, Cory and Katie Powers; and great grandchild, Atley Charlize.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
Funeral Service will be will be Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Managhan Baptist Church.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Graceland West.
