Margaret Adamson McCay, 84, formerly of Boiling Springs passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Cottages of Brushy Creek. She was the loving of Sam McCay for 62 years.
Mrs. McCay was a native of Clay County, Alabama and a daughter of the late Felix Cumbie and Missouri Yates Adamson. She was a former telephone operator with Southern Bell and a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. She was a loving mother who was affectionately known as MeMaw to her grandchildren. She was a very kind and gentle spirit to all.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters and son-in-law: Karen McCay Goodwin of Greenville, SC and Anne and Sam Crossland of Greer, SC; a brother and sister-in-law: Billy and Shirley Adamson of Batesville, MS; four grandchildren: Barry Goodwin, Jeremy Goodwin, Mark Crossland and Cole Crossland; and four great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Scott Crossland and two sisters and six brothers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Chapel officiated by Rev. Bobby Lindsey. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
