Daniel Wayne Key

Daniel Wayne Key, 75, of Greenville, widower of Mattie Key, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at his home. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Walter Charles and Ethel Melinda Gosnell Key. Mr. Key was a pitcher on the baseball team for Monaghan and Dunean Mills, and served in the US Marines. He is survived by his three daughters: Joy Key (Mike Garner), Laura English, and Stacey Key; three sons: Dale Key (Tracey), Jeffery Key, and Brian Key; one sister Jewell McClure; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one son Johnny Trent Key. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2 until 3 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at Coleman Memorial Cemetery.
