William Eugene "Bill" Jarvis

Waynesville, NC

Mr. William Eugene "Bill" Jarvis age 86 of Waynesville NC and formerly of Orlando FL and Greenville SC, passed away October 11, 2013.

He was born in Birmingham, AL to the late Cliff and Violet White Jarvis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Jarvis. Mr. Jarvis served our country in the Merchant Marines and the Navy during WWII. He was the founder of the Greenville Chorale, and the Central Florida Messiah Choral Society, both of which are still in existence today. He taught music/choral at Lakeview Junior High, West Orange High, and Edgewater High in Orlando. Mr. Jarvis was also the rehearsal director for the cast choir at Disney.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anna L. Jarvis of Waynesville NC; sons, Jeffrey Jarvis and his wife Dawn, James Warren Jarvis; daughter, Julie Jarvis and her husband Randy Gibson; brother, Jonathan Jarvis; sisters, Barbara Brown, Dolores Dotson, Rebecca Wilder, Suzanna Self; grandchildren, Gloria Jarvis, Lauren Jarvis Gibson and Jeanne Jarvis Gibson.

The family will hold a private service.

Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warriors Project.
