1985 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Cody Blevins Obituary
Cody Lee Blevins

Cody Lee Blevins, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend; mountain man; hugger extraordinaire, passed away on October 22, 2013 in Greenville, South Carolina.

Cody was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on May 30, 1985 to Teri Kirby Middleton of Greenville, and Mark Blevins of Gray, Tennessee. Cody is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joyce Peters and Walter Kirby, and his paternal grandmother, Jane Blevins.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Mallary LaBarron, her daughter Lillian, sisters Alexandra Middleton and Cheyanna Blevins, brother James Rosenblit, his grandmother Patsy Kirby, his grandfather Steve Blevins, a large extended family and loving group of friends.

Cody rarely had an unexpressed opinion and loved to debate most any topic. An avid reader, Cody was passionate about his family, friends, civil liberties, music, the great outdoors, fine food and a good story.

He possessed an infectious smile and laugh, adorable dimples (when they weren't hidden by his unruly beard) and an amazing bear hug that made you feel instantly loved and protected.

As so many have expressed since his death, the world has lost a truly great soul. He leaves behind a legacy of friends and family who are grateful to have known and loved him for the short time he was with us.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, 639 North Main Street, Greenville, SC.

In lieu of flowers, Cody would have preferred you make a sizeable donation at your favorite watering hole and raise a glass in memory of a life fully lived.

Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting
