John Carl 'Jake' Moorehead, Jr., 84, husband of the late Doris Moorehead, went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2013.

Mr. Moorehead was born in Greenville, a son of the late John Carl, Sr. and Frances Edwards Moorehead. He was retired from Southern Bell with nearly 40 years of employment; and served in France in WWII in the US Marine Corps. He also was a 50 year Mason with Taylors Lodge; and was a captain with Wade Hampton Fire Department, having volunteered for over 25 years.

Surviving are two children, Pamela K. Moorehead of Greenville, and Wayne Moorehead of Taylors; three grandchildren, Scott Wayne Beasley, Allie Gaskin, and Hope Kennedy; five great grandchilren, Evan, Max, Isaac, Zavior, and Macey; and one brother, Maxie Moorehead. Predeceased was a sister, Velma Grisham. Services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Sat., Nov 9. Visitation will be from 2:30 - 3:30 PM in the Remembrance Chapel. Dear Wayne, I know you and your family will miss Jake terribly. I remember all of you from camping and I remember what a wonderful family you had. Keep all the good memories and fun times at the forefront of your thoughts and it will help ease the pain of loss.

Jake, Thank you for being there when I need someone to talk too. I will miss our talk's about the Lord. Thank you for always allowing me in your home. You may be gone but you life will live on in my heart. To the Family I'm so sorry. God Bless each of you.
