Gary Manley Russ, 70, resident of Greenwood SC went to be with The Lord April 27, 2014 at
The Hospice House in Greenwood.
Born in Aiken, August 2, 1943, he was the only child of Jesse Manley and Katie Nostrant Russ.
He was a 1961 graduate of LBC (Langley, Bath, Clearwater) High School. He was owner and President of Gary Russ Chevrolet Cadillac in Greenwood.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Wally Davis Russ; a daughter Kerri Russ Hammond and her
husband Rev. W. Thomas Hammond, Jr. of Buford, Georgia; a son Brad M. Russ and his wife Sallie Walker Russ of Greenwood; four grandchildren Katie Elisabeth Hammond, Karley Marie Hammond, Bradford Manley Russ Jr., and Abbey Towles Russ.
He was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church where he currently served as Church Trustee and was a member of the Dr. Richard Carter Sunday School class.
Mr. Russ was a member of the Emerald City Rotary Club for 32 years and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2PM Wednesday, April 30th at South Main Street Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Roberson, Rev. W. Thomas Hammond, Jr. and Dr. Kevin Rust officiating.
Private family burial will be held prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday April 29th in the Connecting Place at South Main Street Baptist Church and again at 1PM Wednesday prior to the memorial service.
