Clara Jean Poore Chapman, 82, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2015 at her home.

Born in Bob White, WV, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Jean was a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Edith Franklin Poore. She was a retired Administrative Assistant with Western Union; she worked with United Way; was a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital; she was a member of the Commerce Club for 25 years and was a member of Christ Church Episcopal.

Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Doumis Chapman; two sons, Perry Todd Chapman and Gregory Sean Chapman; a daughter, Kelley Noelle Chandler (Scott) and a granddaughter, Morgan Chandler.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday morning in The Howze Mortuary Chapel.

The family will greet friends from 10:30 until 11:15 AM Wednesday morning prior to the service.
