Dear Shirley and Barbara
Mother and I are very sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother, Annie Lou. I have fond memories of growing up with you at Fairview and coming to your home when we were teenagers. We want you to know that you are in our prayers. Mother is here in Florida, with Donna, Nancy and I and unable to attend the service. Again, our thoughts are with you.

Shirley (Barbara and Family):
I was sorry to hear about the passing of Ms. Annie Lou. I must ashamedly admit that I had lost track of where she was and her condition. It is obvious that the Lord blessed her with a good long life and that should fill you with so many pleasant memories as I have of her and you. I am sorry I will not be there today, but I am leaving for a two day meeting in Augusta in a few minutes. You should be aware that you and the rest of the family will be on my mind and in my prayers during this time of separation.

Love you all,
Gene ("Genie Boy") Merritt
