My thoughts and prayers are with each and everyone of you at this difficult time. Hays was a wonderful young man. I remember leading Hays in youth group at Fourth Presbyterian (1992-1996)He was always happy, smiling and making sure everyone was having a great time. I recently ran into Hays and he was still smiling and making sure everyone was having a great time. He gleamed as he told me stories about Hays V, he was one proud Daddy! May God comfort this wonderful loving family.

Hays was a truly special person. It is rare that you meet someone whose positivity is so contagious. I went to high school with Hays, but I have enjoyed catching up with him as we've grown up. I was so happy to see how his art turned into a beautiful career and his kindness and sincerity showed in his role as an awesome father. There is no doubt a huge hole has formed in the hearts of his immense amount of friends, but I feel sure his spirit will continue to have a positive effect on everyone who knew him. My thoughts are with his family.

I moved to Greenville and started at JL Mann halfway through my Jr. year of high school and quickly learned from every group I tried to fit in with that Hays was a member of and friend to all of them. And even with his incredible artistic and athletic abilities, I often got the feeling in those days that it was his sincere interest in being polite, supportive, and compassionate to everyone around him that he was most proud of.

While it can be sad to think that nobody's kindness will top his in the remaining lifetimes of those lucky enough to have known him, it also ensures that we'll certainly never forget him, and we'll hopefully think of him even more often than we already did.

March 31, 2016

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. Psalms 116:15.

March 31, 2016

Hays was honestly the kindest person I have ever met. Growing up knowing him was such a honor. Being a Reynolds doesn't get much better. Love to you all, Robin Freeman Henderson.
